Jhala (Zala) (Clan)

Jhala is the name of a clan of Rajputs belonging to the Suryavanshi lineage, found mainly in the states of Gujarat and Rajasthan in India. They are also known as Makwana.The Jhala claim descent from Harpaldev and Shaktidevi. Harpaldev had nineteen sons,one of whom was Manguji (Limbdi) and his son is Karansinhji (Samla). Their main centers are the Dhrangadhra, Wadhwan and Surendranagar districts of Gujarat and
Jhalawar in Rajasthan. They are also found in Udaipur District of Rajasthan. There were a number of Jhala princely states such as Jhalawar, Wadhwan, Limbdi, Sayla, Wankaner, Samla, Chuda in Gujarat and Labhowa in U.P. Some Jhala are also found in Uttar Pradesh.A whole region of Gujarat, once ruled by them and named for them, was known as Jhalawar.


Jadeja (Clan)


Jadeja belong to the Yaduvanshi Rajputs or Chandravanshi (Moon Dynasty) Rajputs. They are one of the 36 royal dynasties of old tracing their origins to Krishna. They ruled huge parts of Kathiawar peninsula and Kutch until India's independence in 1947.


Vaghela (Clan)

The Vaghelas were a branch and feudatories of the Solanki dynasty, who ruled Gujarat from the 10th to the 13th centuries. The Solanki went into decline in the thirteenth century, and by 1243 the Vaghelas were firmly in control of Gujarat. They restored stability to Gujarat for the latter half of the 13th century. They were based in the town of Dholka. Their dynasty ended with the defeat of Karnadeva Vaghela by Alauddin Khilji,
and the rule of the Delhi Sultanate.


Chauhan (Clan)

Chauhan, Chouhan or Chohan is a clan that ruled parts of northern India in the medieval period. Prithviraj Chauhan, the last Hindu king of Delhi, was a member of this community.


Sarvaiya (Clan)

Sarvaiyas like Jadejas, Chudasamas, Bhattis & Raijadas are off-shoot of Samma clan of Sindh. Sammas are again have branched off from Yadava clan of Kshatriyas, who claim descant from Samba, grandson of Krishna.Sammas and Soomra are again main bifurcation of Yadavas, who ruled Sindh before Muslim rule started in Sindh. Of which, Soomras converted to Islam and Sammas remained Hindus and migrated into Kutch, Saurahstra, Punjab & Rajasthan, to establish new kingdoms.Sarvaiyas like Raijadas have branched off from Chudasama branch of Samma Rajputs and they consider themselves to be brethren and such do not inter-marry.Sarvaiya Rajput like Chudasamas worship Khodiyar, as their Kuldevi.Sarvaiyas Rajputs are descendants of old Chudasama dynasty of Junagadh. They held the estate of Sarva, from which they got name of Sarvaiyas.


Rathod (Clan)

In Rajastan and Gujarat, the Rathore (or Rathor or Rathur or Rathod or Rathour) is a Suryavanshi Rajput clan.Members of this caste are well known for their unflinching readiness for martyrdom and bravery in war.

They have shown the highest level of bravery along with Bais Rajputs of the Rajput Clans.

From the story of the martial clan, the Rathores or Vadher(Sub Caste Jaitawat Jodha, Kumpawats Champawat ), who ruled Marwar from Jodhpur till the merger of the Princely States with the Dominion of India in 1949, one must travel further back in time to the year 1194. It was in that year, thousands of miles away in eastern India that the Muslim invader, Shahabuddin Mohammed Ghori, defeated the mighty Jaichand of Kanauj. It was Jaichand's great-grandson, Sheoji, who rode out to Marwar in 1226, eager for fresh battlefields and glory all his own. And it is Sheoji's descendants who proudly bear the name, Rathore.


Raijada (Clan)

The Raijada or Raizada are the descendants of the ruler of Junagadh. A Kingdom in Shaurashtra peninsula.Junagadh was then under the Chudaasma Rajputs a branch of the Lunar or Chandravanshi line of Rajputs, who trace their origin to Lord Krishna. The Ruler of this Kingdom was addressed as " The Rah' "

( Eg. Rah' Navghan, Rah' Khengaar, Rah' Dayaas, Rah' Maandalik) The Crown Prince to Throne of Junagadh was known as the Rah' as & when and until he occupied the Throne. Rah' was the Title adopted by the Ruler of Junagadh. As it happened in all the Monarchy, The eldest or the worthy son of the Ruler was made the King while other sons were granted Jagirs within the Kingdom. Likewise the son that came to the throne was known as The Rah' while the rest of the sons were given the jagirs and were known by there clan The Chudasama or Sarvaiya.The Kingdom of Junagadh was invaded by the Moguls in the early 17th Century which put an end to the Rajput rule on Junagadh. The Rah' was dethroned and was given the Jagir of Vanthali. The Rah' no longer the ruler of Junagadh was de titled by the Moguls and was given a new Title "Rah'-Zada" meaning The Son of Rah' in Urdu. The reason of taking away the title was to take away the power from him so he cannot reform an army and revolt against the Mogul rule in Junagadh.


Jethwa (Clan)

Jethwa (or Jethva, Jaitwa,Jethi or Kamari,Camari) is a name of a Kshatriya, Rajput clan that claim descent from Makardhwaja son of Lord Hanuman who appears in the Hindu epic Ramayana. They are a branch of the Chandravanshi Rajput clanone of the oldest clans found in Rajput history.


Vala (Clan)
The Vala are a Rajput clan found in the state of Gujarat in India. They claim to be the earliest Rajput settlers in Saurashtra, and claim descent Shiladitya, the Valabhi ruler of Gujarat. After the overthrow of Valabhi, the Vala settled in the south western Saurashtra,


Sisidiya (Clan)

The Sisodia (also known as Sesodia, Shishodia, Shishodya, Sisodya or Sisodhya) are Chattari rajputs of the Suryavanshi lineage who ruled over the kingdom of Mewar in Rajasthan.Prior to Rana Hamir the clan was known as Gehlot or Guhilot.

In 1303 CE, Alla-ud-din Khilji attacked Chittor for the second time after 5 years. According to legend the events following up to the sack of Chittor, defeat of the Rajput was evident. Most fighting men had fallen during the first siege of Chittor. In an attempt to save face, all Rajput men went down fighting during the last stages and met certain death. Meanwhile Rani Padmini committed Jauhar or self immolation with all Rajput women. Muslim invaders often captured women ads war bounty. Young boys of the clan were not in the fort during the assault therefore the lineage survived. Amongst the survivors was Hammir who hailed from Sisoda village. Hamir's Queen, and daughter of Mal Dev Songira helped him recover Chittor. Ultimately Rana Hamir re-established rule over Chittor after 16 years of Muslim occupation. His clan was renamed Sisodia after their village of "Sisoda"
