Bhuchar Mori

I am posting This one is about A fierce battle which was fought in 1591 A.D. -and according to gujarati calendar Vikram Samvat 1648 at Bhuchar Mori, which is on the outskirts of Dhrol, near Rajkot, in state of Gujarat in INDIA between the forces of Jam Sataji, the ruler of Nawanagar state( CURRENTLY KNOWN AS JAMNAGAR) , andMirza Aziz Kokah, the Suba (Governor) of Emperor Akbar at Gujarat during the Mughal Era .This depicts the bravery and Rajput tradition or Dharma. Nahnoo Muzafar Shah III, the Sultan of Gujarat, having lost the battle against Akbar, was seeking asylum from princely states. and Jam Sataji offered him asylum.

Emperor Akbar, got angered by this and deputed Aziz Kokah with his warriors, weapons and infantry to capture Muzafar alive.Jam Sataji the ruler of Nawanagar remained determined on protecting Muzafar true to his Rajput Dharma (tradition). In the unavoidable war that followed, lakhs of soldiers from both sides laid down their lives, fighting bravely. Javerchand Meghani in his book Samarangan said that, when the battle ended, the blood from the bleeding bodies flowed like a river and and it changed the whole color of the earth over there into RED which is still the color of soil at the place

This is the Royal Emblem

Bhuchar Mori

This is about a great warrior from Nawangar (currently known as Jamnagar). Bhanji Dal Jadeja one of brave characters from the history which lot people might not be aware about. But i assure you that after reading might of his bravery everybody will respect his valor.

Bhanji Dal was chief of Nawanagar state Army. In vikram sawant 1633, Delhi emperor Akbar attacked junagadh. Then Nawaab of Junagadh requested Jam Sataji -I of Nawanagar state to xtend help of his army.

Jam Sataji sent a huge army of 30000 soldiers for help of Junagadh against Akbar under the leadership of Bhanji Dal Jadeja. Nawaab of Junagadh was frightened and he closed the doors of Junagadh fort and requested Bhanji Dal Jadeja to return back as he thought he would not be able to defeat Akbar. But Bhanji Dal refused and said, ” Once a kshatriya goes to war, he cant go back, either he loses his life or he achieves victory”. He told his army today either Akbar’s arm surrenders or We will fight!.

On midnight, Bhanji Dal and his troops attacked the army of Akbar( lead by Mirzakhan) with great bravery and courage. Thousands of Akbar’s soldiers were killed in the battle. Next day the Akbar’s troops ran away. Bhanji Dal Jadeja along with great warriors of Nawanagar army including Jesaji Vazir, Togaji Sodha and Meramanji Hala Jadeja won the great battle of Junagadh.

Bhanji Dal seized 52 elephants 3530 horses and Palkies of Akbar’s army as well as the Doors of Junagadh fort were also removed. This was a part of punishment to Junagadh nawaab for his cowardness. These doors are still standing at Khambhalia Gate of Jamnagar.

Nawaab of Junagadh felt sorry and asked for forgiveness.

2)Village of Bhar with 12 other villages.

3)Jam- Jodhpur Tehsil were gifted to Jam Sataji -I By Nawaab of Junagadh. Again in battle of “TAMACHAN” Akbar was defeated b Bhanji Dal Jadeja.

So in this way I pay tribute to the Hero from the past which was not popularly remembered as much as he should. Hats of the bravery in the battle field and His respect for Kshatra dharma.
